So goes the beginning of the first book Mango Jane Publishing is taking time to create this month. James Allen was a Victorian English philosopher and writer who yearned to understand the depths of the human soul and how we can master and create our own lives. I remember reading James Allen’s little book in 1999 for the first time. I had picked it up from a Barnes and Noble little classic section, with the price sticker marked, $6.95. I had no idea when I purchased this book that I was about to embark on a lifelong journey of uncovering and publishing James Allen’s books.
I still remember the quote that made me sit straight up in bed, while I was staying at a gorgeous bed and breakfast in Santa Barbara one Thanksgiving weekend. Are you ready for the quote, dearest reader? Get ready, it’s pretty spectacular:
“Dreamers are the saviors of the world.”
Then Mr. James Allen listed all of the visionary great dreamers as a way of stating his claim to this universal truth.
I love what a scholar James Allen was on the Bible. I like how he used the Bible for positivity and not fire and brimstone or throwing stones at your neighbors. Nothing is more unsettling to me than someone that is pious and righteous with their belief system and cast judgment on others.
So here we go, 2022. Let’s set the record straight with better philosophy.

Let us understand how to become better human beings so we can hate less and love more. Let us shine a light on the good in the world and stop judging each other so harshly. Let us stop finding stones to throw at the next person due to opposing views. Let us take the path of kindness and compassion. Let us lift each other up with powerful words that break HATE wide open.
